Level 2 Training Program

In September 2008, 14 trainees who had been chosen out of the Level 1 Training Program arrived at the EVI office in Mexico. They came ready to work. The 14 were from Argentina, Colombia, Honduras, Peru, El Salvador and Venezuela.

The trainees received ten weeks of intensive training. The first four weeks concentrated on missiology. Topics and exercises were given in topics as varied as the Bible and missions, teamwork, Islamics, cross-cultural work, language learning and business as mission. There daily English lessons, plus lessons in accounting and computer skills. For the second four weeks, the trainees worked in a local restaurant testing cooking, accounting and management skills, while being ovserved on their work habits and ability to work together. Each exercise was designed to help the trainees devise ways of developing their own business platform for reaching the unreached. The final two weeks provided training by giving the trainees tools for raising support, casting their vision in their home churches and planning their next steps for moving overseas.

The nine trainers had a variety of experience in the Latin world, the Middle East, Africa and South-east Asia.

Six of those who successfully completed this level 2 training are in the process of being commissioned by their churches and sent to the locations to which God is calling them, that they may start their businesses and bring His blessing to the local communities. The other trainees will be integrated into these two businesses, or start businesses of their own as funding is provided. You may read about these trainees in the testimonies section.
